What We Believe

The House of Mercy and Evangelism Church is an active continuation of the original church that Jesus purchased with his blood (Acts 20:28-32), Placed in the hands of his chosen Apostles (Mt 16:15-19, Eph 2:20) and was birthed by the Spirit as recorded in the 2nd chapter of the book of Acts. Jesus and the Apostles created an unchanging foundational pattern for His church to follow and grow from. The H.O.M.E. Church gladly accepts, confirms and exemplifies this pattern as set forth in the following points:

THE LOVE OF GOD

God is Love. (I John 4:16)

Love is the distinctive characteristic of God in which the following Points  harmoniously blend. The highest expression of this Divine Love is in redemption.

John 15:13,     I John 4:7  John 3:16  Romans  8:35-37  John 13:34-35

 THERE IS ONE GOD

Scripture declares that there is only one God – Deut. 6:4

God is invisible and immortal – 1 Tim 1:17 and John 1:18

God, who is the father – Phil 2:11

In the beginning being the word – John 1:1

Became flesh and dwelt among us – John 1:14

1 Peter 1:18, 19 John 1:18, John 3:16

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence or the Comforter- John 14:16-26

Sent to regenerate or restore fallen man

All of these qualities were resident in the One God man, Christ Jesus – Tim 3:16 and Col 2:8-10

  THE BIBLE

The bible is the Inspired Word of God, which we must follow.

2 Timothy 3:16 – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

 FAITH

Faith is simple and complete confidence and trust in God. Faith is to accept the responsibilities of Gods covenant and to trust His Word that He alone is God and to commit one’s life to His promises for the present and future.

             Matthew 9:22  Matthew 17:20  Mark 11:22  Ephesians 2:8-9  Ephesians 4:5  Ephesians 6:16

            Galatians 5:22  Romans 10:1  Hebrews 11:1  Hebrews 11:6  James 2:17

A PERSON IS BORN AGAIN INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST BY

            Grace – John 1:17

Through faith (believing) – Eph. 2:8

Faith is demonstrated by being obedient to scripture by repentance  2 Peter 3:9

Water baptism by immersion in Jesus Name – Acts 2:38, Romans6:4

Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in other tongues – Acts 2:38, Acts 10:44-49, andActs 19:1-6

The vivid suffering of Jesus Christ at Calvary purchased our healing. It was foretold by the prophet in Isaiah 53:5, recorded in Matthew 8:17, and promised to the New Testament church in James 5:14-16.Divine Healing is part of the Christian's privilege today because of Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever".

RAPTURE / 2ND COMING

Catching Away: The hope of all born again Christians is the rapture or being "caught up" with those who have been resurrected from the grave to meet the Lord in the air.

I Thessalonians 4:13 - 17     I Corinthians 15:51 - 57

Christ's 2nd Coming: The 2nd Coming of Christ is distinctive from the catching away. Some amount
of time separate the two; The 2nd Coming is when Jesus comes to earth at the battle of Armageddon. After defeating the armies of the world, Jesus will set up a literal kingdom on earth.
